Mutual Life of New York Building is built.

1874

Architect: Peabody & Stearns. Designed in the French Second Empire style with a Venetial campanile, it is part of a double building with the New England Mutual Life Insurance Company that is located in Post Office Square. It includes a 234-foot clock tower. The building is demolished in 1946.
